Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1987 when a common seal pup was found abandoned on the beach in front of The Booth, in Hillswick, Shetland. Since then the sanctuary has continuously looked after sick, injured and abandoned seals and otters in the Shetland Isles. We also help co-ordinate cetacean rescues when whales or dolphins strand on the islands' coastline.
