The storms of this past winter brought many seals to the sanctuary. Here you can see some of these characters.


Black, Bic and Biro ready for release. They were named after the band that Pete's son Jim plays in.

Weeman and Weemoon came to the sanctuary in a poor state, but they gained strength and were released back into the wild.


   Seafield was ready to face the ocean after a recovery period at the sanctuary.

Victoria, our most recent released seal could hardly wait to return to the wild. She smelled the sea and made her own way to the water.

     Rescued seals 2007/2008

 

Below you can view the devastation that the winter weather can bring. Fierce storms caught grey seal pups in November. Many were washed ashore at Heylor and their mothers tried to help their weak young pups.
