Changes are taking place this year at the sanctuary.  We have altered the cafe hours and no longer serve evening meals. We have  forthcoming plans for a variety of events to help fund the wildlife sanctuary this coming year.

Meet Kiri-kou a baby otter and find out about her and our appeal to help her.

We are working to make the sanctuary garden a place where visitors can meet  wildlife and relax. We hope it will offer solace and healing for the spirit, mind and body.

Hard at work in the garden

Native Shetland willows are being planted. Attractive and traditionally used for basket making.

Coloured beach pebbles make an attractive mosaic in the garden.

Unusual in Shetland a 150 year old sycamore tree helps to  create a bluebell grove in spring.

Our friend Iain has been using hand tools to carve symbols into  stones from the Bressay quarry. The stones will eventually stand in the garden.
